Kid's Ministry
The Father's House Church Statement of Faith
-
The Inerrancy of Scripture - We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of men, and the final authority for Christian faith and life.
-
II Timothy 3:16, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
-
-
One True God - We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-
II Corinthians 13:14, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all. Amen!”
-
-
Divinity and Humanity of Jesus Christ - We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, that He emptied Himself of His God nature in heaven and became God incarnate in the flesh. He died on the cross, a perfect and sinless sacrifice for our sins according to the scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of the Father forever making intercession for us as our great High Priest and Advocate.
-
John 10:30, “I and my Father are one.”
-
Philippians 2:6-7, “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.”
-
-
Ministry of the Holy Spirit - We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in this present age by convicting men of their sins, regenerating the believing sinner, and to indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living and service. Also, the Holy Spirit will impart spiritual gifts to all regenerated believers for the building up of the body of Christ.
-
John 16:8, “When He comes (Holy Spirit), he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin, and righteousness and judgment.”
-
I Corinthians 12:4-11, “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but the same God which works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues: but all these work by one and the same Spirit, diving to every man generously as He wills.”
-
-
Fall of Man - We believe that man was created perfectly in the image of God, but fell into sin by his willful disobedience and therefore is separated from God, and is completely lost without God.
-
Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned.”
-
-
Salvation - We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe, and as such receive Jesus Christ as their only Lord and Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit and become the children of God. Furthermore, our salvation is based solely upon God’s grace towards us and it is not by works of any kind that we are saved.
-
Romans 5:8, “But God commands His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
-
John 3:16, “For God so love the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
-
Ephesians 1:7, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”
-
-
Repentance - We believe that true Godly repentance that works sorrow must precede conversion and salvation. That upon true sincere repentance we can have an assurance of forgiveness by God.
-
II Corinthians 7:10, “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regrets, but worldly repentance brings death.”
-
I John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
-
-
The New Birth - We believe that the dead human spirit is regenerated by God’s Spirit at conversion, and thus an individual becomes born again of the Spirit. Furthermore, because one becomes new in Jesus Christ, this individual is no longer his own but has become a servant of the Kingdom of God.
-
II Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold all things become new.”
-
Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

-
Holiness - We believe that it is the will of God that we live a holy life, growing in grace daily.
-

-
Ephesians 4:24, “And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
-
-
Water Baptism - We believe that water baptism by immersion is an outward sign of an inward work/ Water baptism is not necessary to be saved, but is commanded in scripture and Jesus left us an example of His own water baptism. Therefore, all believers should be water baptized by complete immersion if possible.
-
Matthew 28:19, “Go therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
-
-
The Lord’s Supper - We believe in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper (Communion) by earthly elements that represent the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. We take communion in remembrance of the life and death of Jesus Christ until He comes.
-
I Corinthians 11:24-26, “And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “Take, eat this is my body which is broken for you: do this in remembrance of me”. AFter the same manner, when he had supped, he also took the cup saying, “take this cup, it is the cup of the new testament in my body: do this as often as you drink, in remembrance of me/” For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you do show the Lord’s death until he comes.”
-
-
Eternal Judgment - We believe that all humanity will someday appear before God and be eternally judged by Him. The save will receive their reward of eternal life, and the unsaved will receive their punishment of eternal damnation.
-
Revelation 10:11-15, “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
-
-
Heaven - We believe that the heavenly city of God, the New Jerusalem, is the glorious home of all born again believers. Heaven is an actual place where Jesus Christ went to prepare a place for His followers. Heaven is characterized by the presence of God and there is no more sin, death, sickness or sorrow.
-
John 14:2-3, “In my Father’s house are many rooms: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where i am there you will be also.”
-
-
Hell - We believe that hell, also called the lake of fire, is the place of eternal torment for all who reject Jesus Christ as the only Lord and Savior. Hell will be characterized by the absence of the presence of God and will be filled with everlasting torment and punishment.
-
Matthew 24:48-50, “But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, “my master is staying away a long time” and he begins to beat his fellow servant and to eat and drink with drunkards. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
-
-
Fruits of the Spirit - We believe that the born-again Christian can be identified by the evidence of a Spirit-filled life demonstrating the fruits of the Spirit. Jesus stated that, “every tree” will be known by its fruits, a good tree can not produce bad fruit and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit.”
-
Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
-
-
The Rapture - We believe that the true Christian Church will be “caught away” by Jesus Christ and is real and imminent.
-
I Thessalonians 4:16-17, “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
-
-
The Second Coming of Christ - We believe that the second coming of Jesus Christ is real, imminent, personal and will signify the beginning of His Millennial reign on Earth. The rapture and the second coming of Jesus Christ are two different events separated by a period of seven years.
-
Revelation 20:5, “But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”
-
-
Local Church Membership - We believe it is a great benefit and blessing to be linked and joined to a local Christian Church, the visible body of Christ.
-
Hebrews 10:25, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another and so much the more as you see the day approaching.”
-
-
Civil Government - We believe that earthly authority should be obeyed at all times except in matters that clearly oppose the Word of God. Furthermore, prayers and petitions should be made on behalf of all governmental officials.
-
Romans 13:1-2, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God: and they shall receive to themselves damnation.”
-
I Timothy 2:1-2, “I urge you then first of all that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for everyone; for kings, and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
-
-
Evangelism - We believe that preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ for salvation and making disciples of all nations is the greatest responsibility of the Christian Church.
-
Mark 16:15, “And he said unto them, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
-
-
Generous Giving - We believe that the method ordained of God for the support and spread of His Kingdom is by each believer to cheerfully give of their tithes and offerings, especially as God has prospered him.
-
I Corinthians 16:2, “Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store as God has prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.”
-
II Corinthians 9:6-7, “But this I say, He which sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully. Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.”
-
-
Baptism in the Holy Spirit - We believe in a subsequent baptism of power by the Holy Spirit. This baptism is different from water baptism of repentance or the baptism of fire by Jesus Christ. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an enduement from on high and the fulfillment of the promise of Jesus Christ on the day of Pentecost. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to all born again believers.
-
Acts 19:1-6, “While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, “did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” they answered, “no we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” So Paul asked them, “then what baptism did you receive?” John’s baptism, they replied. Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them the Holy Spirit came on them and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.”
-
-
Divine Healing - We believe that God has used doctors, medicine, and other medicinal means for healing; but divine healing was also provided for in the atonement and may be appropriated by laying on of hands by elders, laying on of hands by believers, by the prayer of anointed persons gifted for healing the sick, or by a direct act of receiving this provision by faith.
-
I Thessalonians 5:23, “May God himself, the God of peace sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless (without defilement or corruption) at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
-
-
Five Fold Offices - We believe that Jesus Christ gave gifts unto the Body of Christ to establish, lead, train, and unify the Church. These five offices are Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher.
-
Ephesians 4:11-13, “It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers to prepare God’s people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
